Feeling betrayed and alone, Arkillo has exiled himself to a secluded planet where he is worshipped as a fear god. Prior to this, mainstream comics took place in New Earth continuity since the Crisis on Infinite Earths in 1985. Now, a greater task lies ahead of Rayner, confronting Arkillo, the last remaining Yellow Lantern after the recent destruction of the Sinestro Corps at the hands of Sinestro. This was an attempt to simplify continuity, and make DC Comics more accessible to new readers. The DC Universe was rebooted in 2011 as part of the Flashpoint event. Originally a Green Lantern, she soon began to fall under her father’s influence. Her mother was Sinestro’s late wife Arin Sur, making her the niece of Hal Jordan’s predecessor Abin Sur. Kilowog refused to kill Arkillo, but would not let him kill with a power ring again, so he did the next best thing-he severed Arkillo's ring finger with the ring still attached. However, Arkillo was defeated when Kilowog dropped a navy aircraft carrier on him. Arkillo mocked Kilowog, saying that for all of his ability to overcome fear, Kilowog was still afraid of using his ring to take a life.
